Noleen Dermody Clinical manager for Dorchester and Cliftons wings

I have joined The Close Care as a Clinical Home Manager for Clifton and Dorchester to work alongside the managing director Sanjay, my fellow Home Manager Michelle and Richard and the rest of the team. I would like to enhance on what we do best, to share ideas on ways to improve our service so that we can continue being the best that there can be as a provider. I am committed to working with the team to continue to provide a service that meets standards and works in accordance to legislations and ensuring that we have a positive culture within the home. I will be working with my fellow colleagues to continue to develop the dedicated existing team, so that we can continue to provide high quality person centred care. Together with my colleagues, I will continue to promote a positive culture within the home whereby residents within our setting are supported to be as independent as possible and to promote care and support that is tailored to meet the needs and preferences of our residents and their families. I will continue to promote privacy, dignity and respect to all the residents within our setting. I am committed to promoting and maintaining an environment within The Close Care Home that’s warm, welcoming and friendly.

Managing and leading a care service is never an easy role, the role demands an attitude and skill -set as well as qualities of resilience and commitment and determination, which I hope to display at The Close Care Home.

My background I have studied for four years and qualified as a Registered Nurse in General, Community, Midwifery and Psychiatry. I have 19 years’ experience in both the NHS and the Private healthcare sector. I have worked in Orthopaedics and Trauma, Surgical unit, Acute Psychiatric unit, Acute Medicine, Nursing and Dementia within a variety of roles from a Staff Nurse, Senior Nurse, Junior Ward Sister, Clinical lead and Deputy Manager.

I am committed to developing a good, open and positive relationship with residents, relatives, staff as well as the Quality Monitoring Teams, Local Authority, CQC, GP’s and all other Health Care Professionals. I am committed to listening and developing a rapport, to encourage a valuable partnership by supporting and respecting the roles of individuals within the company, our residents and families, whereby we can have an enjoyable and caring experience within a unique and peaceful setting.

Nursing can be quite challenging at times, but it’s the little things that we do and the kindness that we show that cost nothing, but it can mean so much to those that we care for and work alongside.

I look forward to meeting and getting to know you all and to discussing ideas and ways on how to improve to achieve and maintain outstanding results.

The Close has also developed a strong working relationship with local NHS services over the last 12 months, which sees NHS professionals in the home most days, working in collaboration with The Close team to helping people move on from hospital to home or to care home placements.

Myself, Michelle and Richard are pleased with the positive report received from the CQC as we continue on a pathway that will promote continuous improvement to the delivery of care. Whilst this shows a rating of good, we know that there are still improvements to be made to consolidate and improve.

I remain committed to maintaining the good, open and positive relationships with residents, carers and relatives as well as The Quality Monitoring Teams, CQC, the local CCG, GPs and other Health Care professionals. My aim is to ensure that the residents as well as their families have complete peace of mind to ensure that all our residents’ stay at The Close Care Home is an enjoyable and comfortable one. At The Close we are passionate about delivering exceptional care within a luxurious, most beautiful yet comfortable and peaceful setting.

I very much look forward to welcoming you to The Close.
